Here is the download link of the working VMware unlocker that supports VMware Workstation versions 11 to 16 (all tested by me) on Windows 10, 11 and older versions 8.1 64- bit and Win 7 32-bit physical computers.if(typeof ez_ad_units!='undefined')ez_ad_units.push([[580,400],'sysprobs_com-medrectangle-3','ezslot_7',105,'0','0']);__ez_fad_position('div-gpt-ad-sysprobs_com-medrectangle-3-0');Unlocker version 3.0.4The latest unlocker version (3.0.4) released by the developer in February 2022 has several bug fixes and supports the guest macOS version up to macOS 13 (Ventura). Also, this utility works on Windows 11 computers with the latest VMware Workstation Pro (v 16) and Player products. We published a few guides about installing Mavericks, Mountain Lion and Lion OS X on VMware workstation using this unlocker.

1) Since this tool will be changing and updating the binary files of the VMware workstation, it is always good practice to backup the VMware program folder before executing the unlocker.2) After downloading the zip file, extract it.3) If you have the previous unlocker version, you must uninstall it first.
If you have the older version of the VMware workstation earlier than version 11, you need the older version of the unlocker. Here is working Big Sur 10.16 on Windows 10 with VMware workstation 16.After patching the VMware workstation with this unlocker, the patch is no longer valid if you upgrade the VMware to any major versions. You may not be able to run or create macOS VMs anymore. You need to run the latest unlocker (which has the support of the VMware version you upgraded) to get the macOS virtual machine support again.
a) Visit the official site to download unlocker 2.0.7 (free registration required). This works for VMware workstation 11.b) For VMware versions 10, 9, 8 and 7, you need to get version 1.0.3.Here is the link to download.
In the older versions of unlocker, you may find different sets of files.Right-click on install.cmd file and select Run as administrator option as shown below. Also, you can start the command prompt as administrator on Windows 7 computer and execute install.cmd from the command prompt. Here is the working Mountain Lion OS X 10.8 on VMware workstation 9 with Windows 7 32-bit host after using the unlocker.
So is this working with vmware 15.5 and windows 10 version 1909? I want to create a new install myself with a mac image. And second question: can i use the same unlocker for older versions of mac osx like Tiger (intel?)
I don't know why I was not able to see the Create New VM for Apple . but I must be frank that I used the unlocker 1.3 on VMware Workstation 11 before using unlocker 2.0 when I first installed VMware Workstation 11. I also noticed a faster booting time with Mac OS X Yosemite.
I very much appreciate the hard work that goes into the unlocker files. It is certainly not something I could do myself. With that being said can you please make the file available for download without registration? It's kind of pointless that I - and I guess many others - have to create bogus accounts with one time emails just to download it.
VMWare 11, unlocker 2.0.3, Intel Core i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz in a ASUS Z97 Motherboard --You must turn one virtuliation in bios; suspended by defaultDuring the initial install I would make it where in the configuration would ask to select country; selecting a country I kept getting the following VMWare crash. "VMware Workstation unrecoverable error: (vcpu-0) Unexpected signal: 11...."Eventually I ran "lnx-uninstall.sh" and and then rerun "lnx-install.sh" and the error message went away. I made it all the way to the main screen. Then I would run vmware-tools install. As soon as the vmware-tools install completed VMWare 11 crashed again with the stated error message.I rebooted and it would seem that vmware-tools was installed and everything seems to working without incident.Just for good measures I installed vmware-tools again and again crashed VMWare 11 with the stated error message. So, now I leave well enough alone.Everything seems to be working correctly and without incident... But crashing of VMWare 11 with that error message does disturbs me.... Does anyone have any ideas....Basically I seem to be fully functional until I try to install or reinstall any software....Spoke too soon... seems to work correctly until I install any new software. All the installations run to completion. At the end of all my installs I get the stated crash.
Once the .iso is finally uploaded to the datastore, it's now time to prep our ESXi host with the ability to run macOS in a VM. The unlocker is written python that modifies the vmware-vmx file to allow macOS to boot. Without this unlocker, the machine simply doesn't work and is suck in a sad infinite boot loop.
This occurs because the darwin.iso doesn't exist in the directory "/usr/lib/vmware/isoimages." Which is fine as these are the iso images that shipped with this version of ESXi that I installed. According to the KB 2129825 we have a few options in resolving this. I'm going to simply go with the option to download the latest VMware tools for this specific OS.

THANK YOU !!!! (Shouting loudley) Followed tutorial to the letter. Many years I have been trying to successfully install macosx in vmware. First time ever it went totally straight forward. Vmware 16.1 Asus B365 Prime Plus i5 9400F Vulcan DDR4 3000mhz 8GB
Works on Player 16.1.1 + 3.0.3 unlocker AMD AMD Ryzen 7 1700X on Gigabyte B450M DS3H V3 (enable SVM Mode in BIOS (M.I.T / Advanced Frequency Settings / Advanced CPU Core Settings / SVM Mode: Enable)
I have succeeded in installing Big Sur in a vm using vmware workstation 16, but every time it starts it take 80% of my PC CPU, is unusable. I have tried the suggestion to change model from macbook pro to macbook air but the result is the same.Any ideas
It looks like by default VMWare sets USB compatibility to 1.1, and the VM did not recognize my USB mouse or keyboard. Changing that to 2.x got those working. The VM you end up with will also work with Linux VMWare WorkStation. You need the Linux VMWare unlocker (in the same zip file that has the Windows one).
Hi again. I haven't tested what happens when VMware workstation is upgraded. I think if you don't see the option to create a macOS virtual machine, you'll need to rerun macOS unlocker. Hope that helps!
When you run VMware.exe, it also launches COM Surrogates process loaded by DllHost.exe. Force termination on VMware.exe will leave DllHost orphaned and it still lock on VMwareBase.dll which cause unlocker patching error 13.
The patch is free and can be downloaded from this page. MacOS Unlocker 2.0.8 is used in this example due to ESXi support. The newest version of macOS unlocker is version 3.0.2. Unlocker 2 supports both VMware ESXi and VMware Workstation, while Unlocker 3 only supports VMware Workstation (including the latest versions of VMware Workstation). Version 2.0.8 is the latest version of the patch with ESXi support.
After downloading the patch, copy the patch files to the datastore on ESXi. You can use WinSCP, which supports the transfer of files over SSH by using SFTP, SCP, WebDAV, or S3 protocols (in Linux you can use the equivalent software). WinSCP has a user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI), and consists of two main panels. Copy the unlocker files from your local directory to your datastore on the ESXi server. In this example the unlocker patch and the macOS Sierra installation ISO image (Sierra.iso) were created beforehand, and are placed in C:\Virtual\images_MacOS for convenience. The patch is copied to /vmfs/volumes/datastore1 on the ESXi server. Sierra.iso would be copied to the datastore40. Later, you can mount the ISO image from the datastore to the virtual DVD drive of the virtual machine.
After copying the macOS unlocker patch to the ESXi server, you should add the permissions for the executable files in order to be able to apply the patch. Go to the directory where the patch is placed (if you use a different directory, type the name of your directory) by typing cd
MacOS can be installed on a VMware VM running on ESXi. This can be done after the preparation of a bootable installation image of the ISO format with hdiutil, applying a free patch on an ESXi server and configuring certain VM settings. It is not recommended to install the macOS unlocker patch on ESXi servers that are used in production environments, in order to minimize the probability of any possible issues or negative impacts on production VMs. In this blog post, we have covered the installation of macOS Sierra due to its high popularity among users; however, you can also use the explained logics for installing macOS High Sierra and macOS Mojave on VMware VMs running on ESXi. 2ff7e9595c
